1  Introduction

1.1.  Further to the deliberations at the Committee on Trade and Environment (CTE) during the regular session on 19-20 June 2024, Members agreed to hold a thematic session on Trade-related Climate Measures which would take place on 10 October 2024. In light of the broad nature of the topic, it was agreed that a second thematic session on Trade-related Climate Measures would be held as an intersessional meeting later in 2024.

1.2.  This background note, prepared by the WTO Secretariat is intended to provide a broad factual overview of the topic to facilitate Members' discussion.
