JOB(07)/67 16 May 2007 Committee on Trade and Environment Norwegian action plan for environment in development cooperation Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Agenda item 3A The Norwegian Government drew up an Action Plan for environment in development cooperation for the years 2006 – 2015, representing a tool to meet the closely interlinked challenges regarding environment, poverty and development. Norway aims at a leading role in making environmental concerns an integral part of all development cooperation. Norway’s environmental development cooperation contributes towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in particular to support partner countries’ efforts to achieve MDG 7 on ensuring environmental sustainability, and the target of integrating the principles of sustainable development into country policies and programmes.
