NOTIFICATION OF THE TREATMENT OF INTEREST CHARGES

The following communication, dated 27 March 2025, is being circulated at the request of the delegation of Congo.

With regard to the procedures established by the Committee on Customs Valuation in section A.3 of document G/VAL/5, the Republic of the Congo wishes to inform the Committee that it has been applying the Decision on the Treatment of Interest Charges in the Customs Vale of Imported Goods since 2020.

The relevant provisions are set out in Article 31 of the CEMAC Customs Code, which lists the elements to be included in the price actually paid or payable, and paragraph 3 of which states: "No additions shall be made to the price actually paid or payable in determining the customs value except as provided in this Article".
