NOTIFICATION ON THE TREATMENT OF INTEREST CHARGES

The following communication, dated 13 September 2024, is being circulated at the request of the delegation of Cabo Verde.

Cabo Verde wishes to announce that Decision A.3 concerning the Interpretation of the Agreement on Implementation of Article VII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994 has been in force since September 2010 following the enactment of the Customs Code, approved by Legislative Decree No. 4/2010 of 3 June, and the Customs Code Regulations, approved by Decree-Law No. 23/2014 of 2 April.

The treatment of interest charges is governed by Article 263(c) of the Customs Code and Article 76(1)(c) of the Customs Code Regulations.

The texts of the Customs Code and its Regulations have been notified to the Committee on Customs Valuation and can be consulted on the WTO Notifications Portal in document G/VAL/N/1/CPV/1.
