AGREEMENT ON IMPLEMENTATION OF ARTICLE VII OF THE
GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE 1994

The Republic of the Congo

The following communication, dated 7 June 2024, is being circulated at the request of the delegation of the Republic of the Congo.

Pursuant to Article 22.2 of the Agreement on Implementation of Article VII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994, the Republic of the Congo has the honour to notify the new Customs Code of 2020 concerning customs valuation.

The rules set out in the WTO Agreement on Customs Valuation have been transposed into the directly applicable customs legislation as follows:

Customs Code of 2020 (Regulation No. 05/19-UEAC-010A-CM-33 of 8 April 2019 revising the Customs Code), in particular Articles 27-44 and supplemented by the explanatory notes to the Code (Articles 45-54).[1]
