PRESHIPMENT INSPECTION
Note by the Secretariat[1]
Revision
At its meeting of 12 and 25 November and 17 December 1999,
the Committee on Customs Valuation agreed that the Secretariat would
prepare, in advance of regular meetings of the Committee, a document
indicating the situation with regard to countries that use preshipment
inspection (PSI) regimes. This
information has previously been compiled and presented by the Testing,
Inspection and Certification Council (TIC Council, previously IFIA) in response
to a request by the WTO. On 18 November 2024, TIC Council informed
the Secretariat that no TIC Council members were managing any active PSI
programmes as governed by the PSI Agreement.
