N.B.: To date, a minority of countries party to the agreement have begun trading within the framework of the AfCFTA.

Brief description of the Agreement:

The AfCFTA Agreement is the treaty establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area and providing for Protocols on Trade in Goods, Trade in Services, Rules and Procedures on the Settlement of Disputes, Investment, Intellectual Property Rights, Competition Policy, Digital Trade, and Women and Youth in Trade.

N.B.: Certain Protocols remain under negotiation and have not yet been finalized.
