Article 10, paragraph 4.3
A single window project has been launched in Iceland Customs. A long-term
project plan, describing the future vision has been approved and work on the
first phase of the project is ongoing. Partial funding has been approved by the
Parliament and the project has a yearly budget from state funding for five
years.
In the first phase of the project Iceland Customs will develop a web
portal and merging already existing portals, add electronic services to already
established ones, simplify procedures and eliminate as much paper as possible.
In the second phase the plan is to work closely with other agencies on the
borders, simplify overall procedures and increase electronic data exchange and
collaboration.
A project team is already working on phase one of the project along
with IT suppliers. A first version of a self-service web portal is estimated to
be launched by the end of 2018.
