The following communication, dated 16 July 2025, is being circulated at the request of the delegation of Nicaragua.

Following up on its notification dated 12 July 2024 (_G/TFA/N/NIC/1/Add.6), Nicaragua hereby notifies the extension to its definitive date for implementation of the following provision, in accordance with Article 17 of the Agreement on Trade Facilitation.

To date, no technical assistance or capacity-building support has been received, and the following requirements still apply: the Institute for Agricultural and Livestock Protection and Health (IPSA) requires assistance and capacity-building to improve diagnostic techniques through the validation and accreditation of test methods, as well as to implement a quality management system at the National Laboratory for Phytosanitary Diagnostics and Seed Quality and standardize the methodologies of regional laboratories, as a prerequisite for accreditation in central laboratories under ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
