Dear
Ambassadors/Permanent Representatives,
I am
enclosing the latest version of the Evolving Table on Cotton Development Assistance
(WT/CFMC/6/Rev.32) for review by Members in advance of the next Round of the
Director‑General's Consultative Framework Mechanism on Cotton (DGCFMC).
The
enclosed Evolving Table (ET) contains updates by Brazil, Canada and the
United States. In addition, the document contains updates on projects
implemented by the following international organizations: the United Nations
Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Organization of African,
Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and the Common Fund for Commodities
(CFC).
The
total number of active projects under Part I "Cotton‑specific development
assistance" currently stands at 26. As regards Part II
"Agriculture and Infrastructure‑Related Development Assistance",
there are 42 active projects.
Part IV
of the ET compiles cotton‑related development assistance requests submitted by
developing country Members. A total of 11 projects have been submitted by
Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Mali and the C‑4 Group for
consideration.
Please
also note the 20th version of the Table on Domestic Cotton Sector
Reforms (WT/CFMC/21/Rev.19), which contains the updates received from Burkina
Faso, Burundi and Mali.
The 37th
Round of the DGCFMC will be held on 11 May 2022 from 10 a.m.
onwards. The seventeenth Dedicated Discussion of the Relevant Trade‑related
Developments on Cotton will take place in the morning of 12 May 2022.
The
enclosed documents will form the basis for the 37th Round of
the DGCFMC.
