The above-mentioned Members parties hereby request the General Council to adopt the
draft decision below, pursuant to paragraph 9 of Article X of the Marrakesh
Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization. In this regard, we are
committed to further discussions and consultations with all Members. We also
invite all WTO Members to review the Investment Facilitation for Development 'Toolkit'
(accessible on the IFD portal via this link),
which contains useful information on the background, content and economic
benefits of the IFD Agreement.
[1] Following the issuing of the Joint Ministerial Declaration by IFD
Members parties (_WT/MIN(24)/17
dated 25 February 2024, as revised in document _WT/MIN(24)/17/Rev.1 dated 29 February 2024), a Draft Ministerial Decision on Adding the Investment
Facilitation for Development Agreement to Annex 4 of the WTO Agreement was
circulated at the Thirteenth Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi in document _WT/MIN(24)/18 dated 25 February 2024, as revised
in document _WT/MIN(24)/W/25
dated 29 February 2024. The present revised Communication serves to repurpose
document WT/MIN(24)/W/25 for a General Council Decision, pursuant to paragraph
2 of Article IV of the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade
Organization.
2 This revision is to add Egypt as co-sponsor
to the Joint Communication from the Members parties to the Investment
Facilitation for Development Agreement, issued on 8 March 2024.
