FOURTEENTH SESSION OF THE MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE

REQUEST FOR OBSERVER STATUS BY PALESTINE

The following communication has been received from the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the United Nations with the request that it be brought to the attention of the General Council.

I have the honour to request the admission of Palestine as an Observer to the Fourteenth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization to be held in Cameroon, 26 – 29 March 2026.

Participation by Palestine as an Observer at the Ministerial Conference would help to set the stage for policy-making for integration into the multilateral trading system and eventual accession to the WTO, in the context of efforts at recovery from prolonged economic decline.

While trusting that you would include this item on the Agenda of the Council's forthcoming meeting and that it would be accorded the highest consideration by all Members, I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to your Excellency the assurances of my highest esteem and consideration.
