INFORMAL WORKING GROUP ON TRADE AND GENDER

 CONVENING NOTICE

The following Notice dated 1 December 2025, is being circulated on behalf of Australia, Cabo Verde and El Salvador.

The Informal Working Group (IWG) on Trade and Gender will hold its fifth regular meeting in Room E and through the Interprefy platform, on Wednesday, 10 December 2025 starting at 3 p.m. The following items are proposed for the agenda:

 

1.     ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

 

2.     CO-CHAIRS' UPDATE

 

a._         Report on the IWG's Work Plan 2025-2026

 

b._         Report on MC14 roadmap

 

3.     UPDATES BY WTO MEMBERS

 

a._         Report on The Philippines' Gender and Development (GAD) training-workshop for rural women entrepreneurs titled "Her Route to Foreign Markets", held on 29‑30 September 2025 in Lapu-Lapu City - Presentation by The Philippines

 

b._         SheTrades Outlook in the United Kingdom (UK): Advancing inclusive trade policymaking

 

·_              Through a joint presentation, the ITC will present the UK’s key assessment findings since onboarding SheTrades Outlook. The UK will then share its experience in using the SheTrades Outlook tool to map its policy environment for women in business and trade, identify areas for improvement and highlight good practices.

 

4.     update on "Women Exporters in the Digital Economy" (weide) fund

 

a._         Joint presentation by the International Trade Centre and the World Trade Organization

 

5.    UPDATE by international/regional organizations AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS

 

a._         Strategic Plan 2026-2029 - Presentation by the United Nations Development Programme

 

·_              The strategy presents gender equality as one of three major drivers that will help achieve the plan's four main goals (prosperity for all, effective governance, crisis resilience, and a healthy planet).

 

6.    REPORT FROM THE WTO SECRETARIAT ON ITS 2025 ACTIVITIES

a._         The WTO Secretariat will report on its 2025 capacity building initiatives and on the results of the Youth Talent Incubator Programme 2024-2025

 

7.    OTHER BUSINESS
