INFORMAL WORKING GROUP ON TRADE AND GENDER

CONVENING NOTICE

The following Notice dated 26 June 2025, is being circulated on behalf of Cabo Verde, El Salvador and the United Kingdom.

The Informal Working Group on Trade and Gender will hold its next 2025 regular meeting in Room W and through the Interprefy platform, on Thursday, 3 July 2025 starting at 3 p.m.

The following items are proposed for the agenda:

1.     ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

2.     CO-CHAIRS' UPDATE

a._         Report on the IWG's Work Plan 2025-2026 and road to MC14;

b._         Report on the second edition of the International Prize for Gender Equality in Trade;

c._         Report on the Symposium: Trade and Women's Economic Empowerment "Growing economies through trade – empowering women" held on 2 July 2025;

d._         Report on Co-Chairs' plans for the Public Forum.

3.     UPDATES BY WTO MEMBERS

a._         United Kingdom - Presentation of Member’s Devolved Government: Gender Export Gap in Scotland: Research Report (Gender export gap in Scotland: research - gov.scot)

b._         Global Trade and Gender Arrangement (GTAGA)'s Work Plan 2025-2026 – Report by Costa Rica (Chair of GTAGA)

4.     UPDATE by international/regional organizations AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS

a._         Integrating Gender into AI Standards and Trade Policy: A Blueprint for Action- Presentation by United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE);

b._         Women in coffee value chains – Presentation by the International Women Coffee Alliance.
