CONVENING NOTICE

Revision

The following revised Convening Notice dated 13 November 2024, is being circulated on behalf of Cabo Verde, El Salvador and the United Kingdom.

The Informal Working Group on Trade and Gender will hold its fourth regular meeting in Room E and through the Interprefy platform, on Monday, 18 November 2024 starting at 3.15 p.m.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Prior to the meeting a joint workshop will be organised by the IWG and the MSME Groups on "Empowering Women-Led MSMES: Unlocking Growth Through Intellectual Property" on 18 November 2024, in Room E starting at 2 p.m. (please see separate agenda). Please note that the IWG meeting will start at 3.15 p.m., due to technical adjustments to be made after the joint workshop.

The following items are proposed for the agenda:

c._     Presentation by Chile: Fostering Inclusive Trade: Empowering Women and Bridging Economic Gaps;

d._    Presentation by Colombia: Gender focus in an internalization program – the experience of She Exports to Africa;

e._    Presentation by Australia: Australia's Investing in Women Program.

4.     updates by wto members

a._    Presentation by Australia: Using trade and investment to accelerate growth in the care economy;

b._    Presentation by Brazil on the G20's contribution to increase the participation of women in international trade.

5.     DEVELOPING GENDER-RESPONSIVE POLICY TOOLS: PROPOSALS FROM MEMBERS

6.     PRESENTATIONS BY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS

a._    CEDAW's General Recommendation No. 40 on the equal and inclusive representation of women in decision-making systems: Presentation by Mrs Céline Marie Georgi, Human Rights Officer, CEDAW Secretariat.
