held on 10 november 2022
Corrigendum
Paragraph 5.6 of the original
document in TN/AG/SCC/W/45 - WT/CFMC/71 should read as follows:
5.6. The representative of Burkina Faso, Ms. Nadine Traoré,
deputy Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso in Geneva, speaking on behalf
of the C-4 and Côte d'Ivoire, thanked the different southern partners for their
commitments to the development of the cotton sector, notably in LDCs. He
mentioned that the economic benefits of South-South partnerships were of
paramount importance to their populations and urged development partners to
maintain their support while directing more funding towards the realization of
structuring projects, such as the integration of cotton value chains, the
realization of private and public investments, and the sharing of experiences,
technologies and know-how. That would help generate additional income, reduce
poverty among youth and women, combat unemployment, as well as violent
extremism and illegal immigration, while improving the food security of local
populations.
