Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade - Eleventh special meeting on procedures for information exchange - 24 June 2025 - Moderator's report

ELEVENTH SPECIAL MEETING ON PROCEDURES FOR INFORMATION EXCHANGE

24 JUNE 2025

Moderator's Report[1]

Pursuant to its decision to hold regular meetings of persons responsible for information exchange, including persons responsible for enquiry points and notifications,[2] the TBT Committee held its Eleventh Special Meeting on Procedures for Information Exchange on 24 June 2025. The Special Meetings provide an opportunity for Enquiry Points and Notification Authorities to discuss the activities and challenges relating to information exchange and review how well notification procedures work. They also facilitate follow up on specific transparency-related recommendations agreed by the TBT Committee during its triennial reviews. The Eleventh Special Meeting started with a plenary session, followed by facilitated discussions in three break-out groups, focusing on (i) institutional arrangements; (ii) preparation and submission of notifications; and (iii) the commenting process.[3] This document provides a summary of interventions from the plenary meeting as well as discussions in the break-out groups. Further information regarding the programme and presentations as well as the recording of the plenary session are available through the dedicated webpage on the WTO website.[4]
