The Order approves the Procedure for extending the validity period of intellectual property rights to a plant variety, which includes the following key provisions: the order for submitting a request (including deadlines, acceptable submission formats - paper or electronic, and the maximum term for which the intellectual property rights to a plant variety may be extended); requirements to the request; time-lines for the Competent Authority to review the request; and the order for the Competent Authority to make a decision on extending the validity period of intellectual property rights to a plant variety or on refusing such an extension.
