Governing legislation for plant varieties protection

 

-        A new Section 17A has been inserted related to Corresponding Examination which provides that an applicant may, instead of complying with section 17, lodge with the Registrar in such manner as the Registrar may require and within the prescribed period, an examination report issued and certified by the examination authorities in any UPOV member other than Brunei Darussalam. However, the Registrar may reject this examination report lodged under subsection (1), in which case the applicant shall comply with section 17.
