To align with the amendments
to provisions of the Trademark Act effective May 1, 2024, revisions to the
Enforcement Rules of the Trademark Act have been made and took effect on the
same date. The key points of these revisions include:
1. In response to
the Trademark Act's stipulation of agent qualifications, relevant provisions
regarding agents have been amended. (Amended Articles 5, 10, 12, and 38)
2. To support the
newly-added accelerated examination mechanism for trademark registration
applications under the Trademark Act, detailed provisions for applying for
accelerated examination and the legal consequences of failing to pay the
examination fee have been specified. (Amended Articles 19-1, 19-2, and 48)
