Brief description of the notified legal text

The objective of the Law is to enhance the availability of medicines for public health needs by establishing the possibility of supplying medicines to Ukraine as parallel imports. The Law implements the provisions on parallel imports starting 1 January 2025, ahead of the previously established terms in the Law "On Medicines" as outlined in document IP/N/1/UKR/P/12.

Entry into force

27 July 2024; The Law will be enacted on 01 January 2025, except for subclause 1 of clause 1 of Section I of this Law, which shall take effect on the day the Law of Ukraine 'On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Regulation of Specific Issues in the Fields of Healthcare, Rehabilitation Social Protection and State Registration of Certain Sanitary Measures' comes into force (i.e. 18 December 2024), and the fourth paragraph of subclause 4 of clause 2 of Section I of the Law, which shall enter into force on the day of entry into force of the international agreement on Ukraine's accession to the European Union, but not earlier than the date of entry into force of Article 57 of the Law of Ukraine "On Medicines" (which shall enter into force on 1 January 2028, but not earlier than sixty months after the termination of martial law).
