Description
of content: This standard applies
to food additive aminoacetic acid (glycine) obtained from industrial glycine
by ammoniation process of monochloroacetic acid, then purified by dissolving
in water, decolorized with activated carbon and recrystallized; or obtained from
the sodium glycinate produced by the ammoniation and alkaline hydrolysis of
hydroxyacetonitrile, followed by processes of ion exchange and membrane
decolorization. This standard also applies to the food nutrition fortifier
glycine.
