Description of content: The Indonesian Quarantine Authority (IQA) is the official Indonesian border competent authority, as notified in G/SPS/N/IDN/148. IQA is the authority competent for border protection of animal, fish and plant, protecting borders against the entry and spread of pests and diseases in animals, fish, and plant organisms. In addition, IQA is responsible for monitoring and/or controlling the quality of food, quality of feed, GMOs, invasive alien species, plants and wildlife, and rare species entering the territory of Indonesia.

IQA regulates the Procedures for Integrated Quarantine and Surveillance Measures under Decree of the Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Authority Number 14 Year 2024 as notified in G/SPS/N/IDN/154 dated 8 January 2025 and G/SPS/N/IDN/154/Corr.1 dated 21 January 2025, which focus on the format of the Health Certificate (HC) for export of fish and fishery products into Indonesia. Referring to the format HC, all exporting countries shall comply with Indonesia's import requirements, in particular the declaration of free of aquatic animal diseases listed by WOAH and free of quarantine-listed diseases of aquatic animals, as governed by Indonesian regulations. Related to this, the Indonesian Quarantine Authority regulates kinds of quarantine pests and diseases of fish, causative organisms, categories, and carriers under Decree of the Chairman of the Indonesian Quarantine Number 677 of 2025.
