Description of content: The notified Resolution establishes the phytosanitary requirements
governing the importation of white maize (Zea
mays) grain originating in and coming from Guatemala.
1._
The phytosanitary certificate
must include the following additional declaration: White maize grain officially
inspected by the national plant protection organization (NPPO) of the country
of origin and found to be free from
Vicia villosa;
2._
The IPSA inspector will take
a sample to send to the Phytosanitary Diagnostic and Seed Quality Laboratory,
with the consignment being detained until the results of the analysis are
received.
Shipments will be subject to phytosanitary control by plant
quarantine inspectors from the Institute for Agricultural and Livestock
Protection and Health, who will verify compliance with the phytosanitary
requirements and decide whether or not to authorize importation, on the basis
of the accompanying documents.
