NEW AND COMPLETE NOTIFICATION PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XVII:4(A) OF THE GATT 1994 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF THE UNDERSTANDING ON THE INTERPRETATION OF ARTICLE XVII

The following communication, dated 20 January 2025 and received on 21 January 2025, is being circulated at the request of the delegation of Ecuador.

In accordance with the notification requirements set forth in Article XVII.4 (a) of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT 1994) and the Understanding on the Interpretation of Article XVII of GATT 1994, Ecuador hereby notifies that for the calendar years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, it has had no state trading enterprises.[1]



[1] In the communication accompanying the notification, Ecuador indicates that "Ecuador, by means of Executive Decree No. 1062 of 19 May 2020, ordered the termination of the National Warehousing Unit (UNA EP) and its consequent liquidation. For this reason, the notification indicates that Ecuador has had no state trading enterprises since 2020".
