REPLIES TO THE SURVEY

Communication from the State of Kuwait

The following communication, dated 2 June 2025, is being circulated at the request of the Delegation of the State of Kuwait.

_______________

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has confirmed that the equipment used in the sector of power and water distillation stations in the Ministry falls under classification (F).

Furthermore, the applicable Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDOC) is Type 4:

The supplier or the manufacturer of the equipment declares that the equipment meets the technical and administrative requirements. Registration of the equipment with the regulator is not required, and testing of the equipment by a recognized testing laboratory is not mandatory. If testing is undertaken, the choice of the testing laboratory rests with the supplier or manufacturer.

In addition to the framework established by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Communications and Information Technology Commission also applies method (F). Under this approach, importers or manufacturers are required to comply with the Commission's type approval regulations and must submit evidence demonstrating compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) standards, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17027.
