Decree-Law No. 77/99/M of 8 November 1999
has been terminated by Law No. 12/2024, which entered into force on 31 August
2024. The latter establishes a new regulatory regime for weapons and related
articles for the purpose of maintaining public safety and peace and
preventing the risks arising from proliferation, wrongful possession or
misuse of weapons and related articles.
