The following communication under Article 15.2 of the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade has been received from the delegation of Georgia.

1  RELEVANT GEORGIAN LAWS AND REGULATIONS

·        Georgian law "Code of Product Safety and Free Movement of Goods" adopted 25 May on 2012.

·        Decree of the Government of Georgia #45 on "The Rule of acknowledgement and application of Technical Regulations of Other Countries by Georgia" adopted 24 February on 2006.

·        The Decree of the Government of Georgia #170 "On Acceptance of the rule of notification sending and communication on standards, technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures on applicable documents and their drafts" adopted on 18 September 2009.

·        Decree of the Geostandard on acceptance of the "Code of Good Practice for the Preparation, Adoption and Application of Standards" contained in Annex 3 to the WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade – adopted on 16 April 2003.

2  TRANSPARENCY

A.     PUBLICATIONS

1.  According to the Georgian legislation, LEPL – Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology (GEOSTM) provides registration of the Georgian standards in the official registry. All adopted Georgian standards are available on the website of GEOSTM (sst.geostm.gov.ge). All publications of the Georgian standards are available for all interested parties.

2.  Technical regulations adopted only by the law, by the order of the president of Georgia and by the Governmental Decree. All adopted technical regulations available on the official website of LEPL – The Legislative Herald of Georgia (webpage www.matsne.gov.ge), operated under the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

B.     ENQUIRY POINT

3.  According to the Decree of the Government of Georgia #170 "on Acceptance of the Rule of Notification Sending and Communication on Standards, Technical Regulations and Conformity Assessment Procedures on Applicable Documents and their Drafts" - TBT National Enquiry Point established in the system of LEPL - Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology (GEOSTM).

4.  "GEOSTM" is responsible for adoption and publication of the Georgian standards and sending notifications, according to the WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade.
