Chairperson: H.E. Mr Ángel Villalobos Rodríguez (Mexico)
Corrigendum[1]
In page 4, paragraph 40 should read as
follows:
40. In the same vein, on supply chain security, the Report highlights
correctly that there is an increase in export‑restrictive measures; but what
the Report does not highlight is that the WTO is much weaker in addressing
export-restrictive measures than in addressing import‑restrictive measures, and
again if you are thinking about a policy message, that would be an appropriate
policy message which I think could have been conveyed in this Report. If we
are, in the next 20 to 30 years, going to become much more dependent on the
sourcing of critical raw materials across the world, then additional
disciplines on export restrictions would be appropriate and WTO rules are not
well developed in that field, compared to import rules.
