Description
of content: Proposed rule - The
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA or Agency) is proposing to grant a
petition to remove 2-Butoxyethyl benzoate (2-BEB)
(Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) No. 5451-76-3) from the glycol ethers
category in the list of hazardous air pollutants (HAP) in Clean Air Act (CAA). The EPA proposes
to find that there are adequate data on the health or environmental effects
of 2-BEB to support the request for removal. This action also details a
streamlined approach to the review process of future petitions.
