Description of content: This document specifies the technical requirements and test methods, inspection rules, and labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage of non-petroleum-based brake fluids used in hydraulic brake and hydraulic clutch systems for motor vehicles.

This document applies to motor vehicle brake fluids formulated with non-petroleum-based raw materials as the base fluid and incorporating various additives, which are designed to come into contact with seals made of Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) or Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer Rubber (EPDM).

This document does not apply to motor vehicle brake fluids intended for use in polar environmental conditions.
