Aid-for-trade monitoring EXERCISE
Joint communication by the WTO and OECD
Secretariats
Fifth Global Review of Aid for Trade:
Reducing Trade Costs for Inclusive, Sustainable Growth
1.1. Following a number of requests from delegations, the deadline for the
Aid-for-Trade monitoring and evaluation exercise has been extended to 31 January 2015.
1.2. Members will recall that the Aid-for-Trade monitoring and evaluation
exercise was jointly launched by WTO Director-General Roberto Azevêdo and OECD
Secretary-General Angel Gurría on 21 October 2014 (WT/COMTD/AFT/W/54).
1.3. This document serves as a reminder to delegations, and other
Aid-for-Trade stakeholders, to submit responses to the self-assessment
questionnaire and case story template – and to delegations to publicize this exercise
with their national private sector, academic and non‑governmental
organizations. Links to the electronic questionnaires and case story formats
for the Fifth Global Review monitoring exercise are reproduced in Annex 1
below.
1.4. To date, 61 completed self-assessment questionnaires have been
received: 37 from partner countries (including 18 least developed countries), three
from regional economic communities/transport corridors, 20 from donors
(including international governmental organizations), and one from South-South
partners. In addition, 30 case stories have also been submitted.
1.5. A list of respondents to the self-assessment questionnaire is
provided in Annex 2. This list compares those responses received from
delegations for the 2013 monitoring and evaluation exercise. A list of case
story submissions is provided in Annex 3.
