Reform of the committee on Trade-related investment measures
(the Trims Committee)

ITEMS AGREED BY THE COMMITTEE

The TRIMs Committee has been engaged in the discussion on the issue of the Better Functioning of the Subsidiary Bodies of the Council for Trade in Goods ("CTG"), under the auspices of the CTG.

Following the informal meeting held on 19 July 2023 to discuss this issue, the Chairperson of the TRIMs Committee sent a communication to Members listing the three issues where agreement seemed possible. This written process communication was sent to Members on 20 July 2023 and the issues listed therein were the following:

1.    The WTO Secretariat will organize introductory sessions on the TRIMs Agreement and the functioning of the Committee for Geneva-based and capital-based delegates. The first training session will be held in the second semester of 2023.

2.    Minutes of regular Committee meetings – starting with the next regular meeting of the Committee – will be prepared in verbatim style, on a trial basis.

3.    The Chair will circulate a factual summary of Committee meetings, on a trial basis, starting with the next regular meeting of the Committee.

No comments or objections have been received by the set deadline of Monday, 31 July 2023. Thus, the TRIMs Committee hereby agrees to the course of action as laid out in the list above.
