Following the two informal meetings of the SPS Committee on the issue of equivalence in the context of developing country concerns, this note is intended to assist Members in advancing the discussion. The note draws on and summarizes information provided by Members and international organizations in the context of formal and informal meetings of the SPS Committee. It identifies the specific concerns raised by developing country Members and endeavours to identify possible means of addressing these. The Annex summarizes the main points raised by Members in their submissions regarding equivalence.
