Termination of the procedures under article xxi of
the General agreement on trade in services (gats)

Communication from the secretariat

On 24 May 2024, the delegation of Canada circulated a communication, contained in document _S/SECRET/14/Add.1, concerning Canada's withdrawal of its notification pursuant to the Procedures for the Implementation of Article XXI of the GATS (_S/L/80[1]), as set out in document _S/SECRET/14.

 

In accordance with paragraph 19 of _S/L/80, upon receipt of the above-mentioned withdrawal, Article XXI and the procedures for the implementation of Article XXI cease to apply to the process initiated in _S/SECRET/14.

 

Consequently, and in accordance with _WT/L/452[2], documents relating to this process are derestricted for transparency purposes.
