3  Technical and financial assistance under paragraph 3(iii) of the Decision

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs(MAFRA) of Korea is implementing the "K‑Rice Belt" project, targeting African countries where rice is a staple crop but rice self-sufficiency rates remain low. Based on Korea's past experience in achieving rice self-sufficiency, the project aims to enhance food security in the recipient countries by providing technical and agricultural infrastructure assistance. This includes rice seed production and distribution, as well as the establishment of seed production zones, in response to requests from recipient countries. In 2024, a total of 7.5 billion KRW was provided to the LDCs and NFIDCs, and all assistance is provided in fully grant form.
