THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

The following communication, dated and received on 12 December 2025, is being circulated at the request of the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


 

 

The Committee on Safeguards has circulated to WTO Members the notification _G/SG/N/8/IDN/34 - _G/SG/N/10/IDN/34 dated 2 December 2025 by the Republic of Indonesia concerning finding of serious injury or threat thereof to the domestic industries producing Linear Low-Density Polyethylene having a specific gravity of less than 0.94, in other than liquid or paste or powder form and a notification of proposed safeguard measure in the form of specific duty against the importation of subject goods.

As a Member, having a substantial trade interest in the export of products concerned, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hereby requests consultations with Indonesia pursuant to Article 12.3 of the Agreement on Safeguards with a view to reviewing the information provided under Article 12.2 and exchanging views on the implications of the measures.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia suggests that the consultations mentioned above take place virtually at a mutually agreed date.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reserves all its rights under the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization and its Annexes, including the Agreement on Safeguards.
