3. The Chair recalled that at its April 2015 regular meeting, the Committee had decided to continue to apply the same procedures in G/SCM/117 according to which only notifications that had been circulated to Members in all three WTO working languages not later than 2 January 2017 could be reviewed at this meeting. Those notifications were listed in WTO/AIR/SCM/13. Written questions pertaining to those notifications had been due by 23 January 2017, and written answers by 27 March 2017.
4. The Chair noted that Brazil had submitted its 2015 new and full subsidy notification which would be immediately circulated and sent for translation so that it could be on the agenda for review at the Committee's fall 2017 special meeting.1

9. The Chair noted that as the questions had been submitted after the applicable deadline and no written replies had yet been provided, the Committee would return to this notification at its fall special meeting.

14. New Zealand welcomed the EU's reassurances that the structural support granted under the Maritime and Fisheries Fund (MFF) had no distortionary effects on trade and requested the EU to explain how the MFF support had been spent in practice. New Zealand also asked the EU to provide an update on the remaining operational programmes adopted after April 2015. It also recalled the progress made by the EU with respect to the Common Fisheries Policy and related fisheries funds, including the elimination of capacity enhancing subsidies such as vessel construction and modernization, and encouraged the EU to continue those reforms.
