Brief description of the Agreement:
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership
Agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia is a broad-based
agreement that provides preferential treatment for the vast majority of trade
in goods as well enhanced market access for service providers from both
countries with the aim to strengthen commercial and economic relations
between the Parties that will enhance economic linkages, promote investment
opportunities, minimize barriers and create a larger and more integrated
market with greater opportunities.
The Agreement covers chapters on Trade in
goods, Trade in Services, Customs Procedures and Trade Facilitation, Sanitary
and Phytosanitary Measures, Standards, Technical Regulations and Conformity
Assessment Procedures, Trade Remedies, Digital Trade, Investment, Government
Procurement, Intellectual Property, Islamic Economy, Economic Cooperation as
well as institutional chapters. The Agreement establishes a Joint Committee,
which supervises the implementation of the Agreement.
