Brief description of the Agreement:
·_ Improved market access in the
agri-food sector.
·_ Improved market access in
services, including in delivery, telecommunications, maritime transport and
financial services.
·_ Improved access for government procurement
contracts for goods, services, works and works concessions.
·_ New disciplines and cooperation in
raw materials and clean fuel crucial for the transition to the green economy,
such as lithium, copper, and hydrogen.
·_ A dedicated chapter on small and
medium enterprises to help ensure that smaller businesses fully benefit from
the agreement, including by cutting red tape.
·_ Protection for 216 EU and 18 Chilean Geographical
Indications (GIs).
·_ Ambitious Trade and Sustainable
Development provisions, confirming the Parties’ commitment to International
Labour Organization standards and to the Paris Agreement.
·_ A dedicated Trade and Gender
chapter, with commitments to eliminate discrimination against women.
·_ A chapter on Sustainable Food
Systems, with the objective of making food supply chains more sustainable and
resilient.
·_ This Interim Trade Agreement
replaces part IV of the Agreement establishing an
association between the European Community and its Member States, of the one
part, and the Republic of Chile, of the other part.[1]
