15 December
2024 for Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru,
Singapore, United Kingdom and Viet Nam.
24 December
2024 for Australia.
For
the rest of the signatories, entry into force will be in accordance with
Article 21 (Entry into Force), paragraph 3, of the Protocol
on the Accession of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans‑Pacific
Partnership (Accession Protocol).

Brief description of the Agreement:
The
treaty concerns the accession of the United Kingdom to the Comprehensive and
Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) by means of the
Accession Protocol. The CPTPP establishes a free trade area for trade in
goods and services within the meaning of GATT 1994 Article XXIV and GATS
Article V.[1]
The Accession Protocol sets out the terms
and conditions of the United Kingdom's accession to the CPTPP to take into account commitments on liberalisation of goods and
services.
Annex 2-D of the Accession
Protocol contains the Tariff Schedule of the United Kingdom and Appendix A to
Annex 2-D contains the Tariff Rate Quotas of the United Kingdom. Annex 12–A
contains the United Kingdom's Schedule of Commitments for Temporary Entry for
Business Persons and Annex 15–A contains the Schedule of the United Kingdom
for Government Procurement. Annexes I and II contain the United Kingdom's
Schedules relating to Services and Investment while Annex III contains the
Schedule relating to Financial Services.
