Brief description of the Agreement:

ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement (ATISA) is a comprehensive trade in services agreement that builds upon existing ASEAN services agreements (AFAS and FTAs with ASEAN Dialogue Partners). It aims to reduce barriers to trade and investment in services and create a predictable business environment, while strengthening economic relations between ASEAN Member States (AMS). Key features of ATISA include (i) clearer and stronger obligations; and (ii) transition to negative list commitments within clearly stipulated timeframes. ATISA includes three sectoral annexes on Financial Services, Telecommunication Services and Air Transport Services. (read more)
