Brief
description of the Agreement: The
UK and Serbia's previous preferential trading relationship was governed by
the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Communities
and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Serbia, of the
other part ("the EU‑Serbia Agreement"). Please see document series:

The Partnership, Trade and Cooperation
Agreement between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland and the Government of the Republic of Serbia ("the
UK-Serbia Agreement") is based on the EU-Serbia Agreement. This
arrangement constitutes a free trade area in goods under GATT XXIV 1994, as
well as in services by virtue of GATS V.
Provisions on
trade in goods include provisions on rules of origin, preferential tariffs
and quotas. It also contains commitments on trade in services, as well as
intellectual property, and government procurement.
The date of entry into force for this Agreement is 15 July 2021. The
Agreement was provisionally applied prior to its entry into force and the
earlier Notification of Regional Trade Agreement dated 18 May 2021[1]
referred to the provisional application date of 20 May 2021.
