The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Dordogne and Landes, France

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 118357 dated 24 December 2015 entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One‑day Old Chick" originating from Dordogne and Landes, France, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Dordogne and Landes, France. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 205/1291/1439 dated 4 February 2018 (18/05/1439 H), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from France.

Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in France. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from France is negligible.
