New and Full and Updating Notifications Pursuant to Article XVII:4(a) of the
GATT 1994 and Paragraph 1 of the Understanding on
the Interpretation of Article XVII

The following communication, dated 14 March 2014, is being circulated at the request of the Delegation of South Africa.

The Government of the Republic of South Africa wishes to inform the Council for Trade in Goods that pursuant to Article XVII:4(a) of the GATT 1994 and the Understanding on the Interpretation of Article XVII and in response to the request for notifications contained in document G/STR/N/15,  South Africa does not maintain any state trading enterprises that fall within the working definition of such enterprises as contained in paragraph 1 of the above Understanding.
