REPORT (2009) ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE COMMITTEE ON
SANITARY AND PHYTOSANITARY MEASURES

The present report is being circulated by the Chairperson of the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures on her own responsibility. This report provides a summary of the activities and decisions of the Committee during 1 October 2009.
The Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (the "SPS Committee") has held three regular meetings in 2009: 25-26 February, 23-24 June, and 28-29 October. At the June meeting, Ms Miriam Chaves of Argentina was appointed Chairperson for the 2009-2010 period.
The Committee has been undertaking the Third Review of the Operation and Implementation of the SPS Agreement at its informal and regular meetings during 2009. In accordance with the procedures for the Third Review (G/SPS/W/228), and on the basis of information provided by Members, the Commi
