in Information Technology Products
STATUS OF IMPLEMENTATION
Note by the Secretariat
As of 21 July 1997, the ITA covered 43 participants representing approximately 93 percent of world trade in information technology products. Out of the 28 schedules (counting the fifteen EU schedules as one) of these 43 participants, the formal rectification and modification documents of 19 Members' schedules have been received and circulated. The schedules received are the following:

Costa Rica Japan Thailand2
European Communities Korea Turkey
Hong Kong Macau United States
Iceland Malaysia
India Norway
Of the above India, Poland and Turkey have indicated that implementation will begin after the completion of domestic procedural requirements.
Of the participants that have not yet submitted their schedules, Estonia and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu are not currently Members of the WTO and are therefore not expected to submit documentation for rectification or modification of schedules. For Romania and Switzerland the first rate reduction is scheduled to take place on 31 December 1997; and for the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic the first rate reduction is scheduled to take place on 1 January 1998. El Salvador, New Zealand and the Philippines are expected to submit their schedules in the near future.
3. Letters of acceptance, in accordance with the provision of paragraph 10 of the Annex to the Declaration on Trade in Information Technology Products, have been received from all participants except one.
4. Internet derestriction authorization has been received for eight schedules, and these have been posted to the WTO web site. The derestricted schedules are:
