Updating Notification Pursuant to Article XVII:4(a) of the GATT 1994
and Paragraph 1 of the Understanding on the Interpretation of Article XVII
HONG KONG, CHINA
The following communication, dated 13 March 2000, has been received from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office.

Hong Kong, China notified in its letter to the Chairman of the Council for Trade in Goods, dated 22 March 1999, that it maintained no state trading enterprises within the meaning of the working definition in Paragraph 1 of the above Understanding. I have the pleasure to inform the Working Party that there has not been any change since then in state trading activities in Hong Kong, China.
