The following communication, dated 12 May 2025, from the delegation of Indonesia to the Chairperson of the Dispute Settlement Body, is circulated pursuant to Article 21.6 of the DSU.

Indonesia submits its status report on DS477/DS478 dispute in accordance with Article 21.6 of the DSU.

Indonesia reaffirms its intention to fully implementing the rulings and recommendations by the DSB in these disputes. As such, Indonesia made significant regulatory changes by amending relevant laws and ministerial regulations to address the measures at issue. Furthermore, Indonesia’s current import regulation was designed with careful consideration of Indonesia's obligations under WTO agreements.

Indonesia would also like to reiterate that the objective of the implementation of the Commodity Balance mechanism is to facilitate trade in a transparent and predictable manner without imposing any restrictions or unnecessary barriers to trade.

In this regard, Indonesia stands ready to engage in constructive dialogue with New Zealand and the United States to explore mutually beneficial solutions and resolve this longstanding dispute.
