products,
animals and animal products
Status Report regarding implementation of
the dsb recommendations and rulings
by Indonesia
Addendum
The following communication, dated 15 January
2025, from the delegation of Indonesia to the Chairperson of the Dispute
Settlement Body, is circulated pursuant to Article 21.6 of the DSU.
_______________
Indonesia reports to the DSB
regarding the implementation of rulings and recommendations of the dispute
DS477/DS478 in accordance with Article 21.6 of the DSU.
Indonesia would like to reiterate
its commitment in implementing the Panel and the Appellate Body's findings
regarding disputed measures by enacting laws and regulations that subsequently eliminate
self-sufficiency requirements and removing harvest period restrictions, import
realization requirements, six-month harvest period requirements, reference
prices, and domestic purchasing requirements.
Indonesia took note of the
complainants' concern in the previous meetings and would like to further
reassure that existing and future importation regimes are aimed to facilitating
trade without creating unnecessary burdens and are in line with the WTO
provisions.
Against this background, Indonesia
remains willing to work constructively with New Zealand and the United States
in order to discuss mutually acceptable solutions to resolve this long-standing
dispute.
